The Homeless Families Project provides specialist support to families living in temporary accommodation and overcrowded housing. Our workers provide:

  • specialist housing advice
  • advocacy services, liaising with statutory housing organisations
  • immigration advice
  • benefit advice
  • breaks from stress associated with temporary and overcrowded housing
  • activities for children and respite for parents
  • improved living and health conditions, by applying for small grants to pay for essential items.

Families seeking asylum, refuge, or newly arrived migrants, are helped by our volunteers with:

  • community integration
  • socialization
  • access to services
  • English
  • learning & interpreting
  • completing forms

The team provide a wide range of learning activities such as parenting groups, coffee mornings and drop-in advice sessions so that homeless families can integrate into their communities and move forward with their lives.
