This Easter a few engineers decided to showcase their creative talents for the benefit of disadvantaged families.

The London office of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), which has over 120,000 members in 140 countries, recently had engineers exercise their artistic muscles when they held an Easter Egg decorating competition to raise money for Westminster Befriend A Family.

Everyone who took part paid an entry fee for the privilege of setting their inner child free for a couple of hours and happily painted, glued and glittered their eggs spectacularly – producing some eggcelent results, (sorry!).

Generous donation

In doing so, IMechE raised a healthy £90, which generously helps us in supporting some of the most vulnerable families in the borough.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the competition and to IMechE for thinking of us. We are always keen to get local organisations and businesses based in the community involved in what we do.

Please enjoy this small gallery of decorated eggs with some of their decorators from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
